Where I'm running into trouble is that I would like to now make 16", 24", 32", etc. I created a 3'x8'x8" seating riser with 4 chairs, and have created a component for it, which is now in my component library. The theatre space we use flexible, meaning that sections of seating risers are moved around from show to show as fits the design needs of the production. I'm now starting to add seating to the model. I've built the theatre space with no problems. I'm new to SketchUp, and using it for theatre. User has access to W:\DATA\ via Windows Explorer with no problem. ![]() User has to save It to local disk and then move to network drive. Please fix by going to SketchUp's Preferences > Files and specify a valid path with write access for Models:'.Īfter that, it’s not possible to save the file to network drive. SketchUp and its AutoSave / Save feature works fine, but sometimes “CFileException 1” error message appears:ĬFileException 1 in W:\DATA\SketchUp_drawing-0.tmp He use new Z240 workstation for 1 month and work every day with multiple SketchUp files. One of our users has problem with AutoSave / Save feature. Files are stored on network drive (W:\DATA), it’s Windows Server 2012 storage. If you have SketchUp’s Backups set up, then you can go back the the model-version one save behind your last save. If I then close this model, then its AutoSave file is auto-deleted, as it closes… On my PC with AutoSave set up, I open a new ‘Untitled’ model from a Template, and I do not save it… after the requisite time has passed an AutoSave file IS made - it is named “AutoSave_Untitled.skp”. If SketchUp crashes the model’s AutoSave file is usually left behind - so in theory you can rescue some work, at least back to the last time it was AutoSaved. However, when you exit the model ‘cleanly’, then its AutoSave file is usually auto-deleted. On a PC, when it’s set up, the SketchUp AutoSave function saves a copy of the model “MODELNAME_AutoSave.skp” at the given time intervals into the folder specified in Preferences > Files - all as outlined in earlier ppsts… ![]()
